Blanket of Nature

Once the land is drilled, the scars’ stitches are created to heal from the mother nature, the BLANKET of NATURE is a relaxing, quiet, and calm space to heal the visitors’ souls.

BLANKET of NATURE is a place of pause created to run away from reality, healing by nature; stitching and weaving the broken soul. The concept of weaving and stitching is also the main program of the project, weaving studio. While visitors are escaping reality in the BLANKET of NATURE, they can participate in weaving lessons, yarn making, or spend time with fiber animals in the farm such as rabbit, sheep, or alpaca.

CONCEPT MODEL

The concept model was created by using various types and textures of yarn, the thick and soft yarn used to create the organic paths of natural circulation from plants, animals, and humans which constantly change. Overlap with the fixed architectural created from less textured, structured yarn. Both aspects are made to intertwine with the land, or the mesh fabric tightened by the embroidery hoop.


PLAN and SECTION

BLANKET of NATURE consisted of 3 floor plates which were also intended to be weaved into the land and the sky. From the main floor at the top, it is fully exposed from land and extended to the sky as it is accessible to the public. The second floor in the middle is the semi-public level where the weaving activities and animals are located. Lastly, the private level, which is mostly submerged in the ground, contains guestrooms and housekeeping space.
